Location of CASTNESS'08

CASTNESS'08 will be hosted by:
Università La Sapienza di Roma - Piazzale Aldo Moro 2 -00185 Roma, ITALY

• the WORKSHOP - first two days - will be hosted by Dipartimento di Chimica - Aula (Classroom) La Ginestra - WARNING Entrance to the classroom on the REAR side of Chemistry Building
• the SCHOOL - third and fourth days - will be hosted by Dipartimento di Fisica - Edificio (Building) G. Marconi - Aula (Classroom) M. Conversi - 1st floor
  
• Note: The Physics Department (Dipartimento di Fisica) and Chemistry Department (Dipartimento di Chimica) are located just in front one of the other.

The University City is located near to the center of Rome: 2 Km NE from "Campidoglio" (i.e. Capitol Hill) and 1 Km NE off the central "Termini" railway station.

There are two airports in Rome:

• The Leonardo da Vinci airport in Fiumicino (FCO official IATA airport code)
• The Ciampino airport in Ciampino (CIA official IATA airport code)

The two airports are connected to the city centre (Termini Station and/or Tiburtina Station) via bus, taxi and train (train from/to Fiumicino only).

• From Fiumicino-Leonardo Da Vinci (FCO) to the City Center

There's a direct railway connection to the railway station of Rome Termini (SPECIAL TRAIN LEONARDO EXPRESS) from 6.37 to 23.37 (every 30'). From Termini to Fiumicino from 5.51 to 22.51 (every 30'). Cost 9.50Euro. There's also another train, every 15 minutes, to Tiburtina station (METROPOLITAN TRAIN FM1). Cost 4.70 Euro. A taxi from Fiumicino to Rome will take 45min to get in the city centre and will cost about 45Euro.

• From Ciampino (CIA) to the City Center

Rome is reachable from Ciampino by taxi or bus. For a direct bus connection, you can refer to the company busShuttle http://www.sitbusshuttle.com or Terravision http://www.terravision.it/italiano/rome_ciampino.html. Tickets can be bought at the bus stop, just outiside the arrivals gate.

• From Termini railway stations to the University "La Sapienza", Piazzale Aldo Moro 2.

'La Sapienza' is 15 min walking distance from Termini station, but you can also use the underground, Line B dir. Rebibbia to Castro Pretorio (next stop) or to Policlinico (two stops) and then walk for 10 min. If you are looking for a bus or taxi, in termini station take the exit 'Piazza dei Cinquecento'. Bus n. 310, 71 or 492.

• From Tiburtina railway stations to the University "La Sapienza", Piazzale Aldo Moro 2.

From Tiburtina you can walk for 30 min or take the underground Line B dir. Laurentina, to Castro Pretorio (three stops) or Policlinico (two stops) and then walk for 10 min. You can also take bus n. 71 or 492.
